The Lion Cub

Le Jeune Fauve, a short film by Jérémie Dubois (2013, 23 mn).
With the support of CNC (Aide avant réalisation), Région PACA and Arte France.

Selected as part of the programmes “Lycéens et apprentis au cinéma” and “Passeurs d’images”, as well as at a dozen French festivals including Nice, Aix, Aubagne, Strasbourg and Marseille.

With Alexandre, Charlène, Patricia and Stéphane Landri.

South-east of France. Stéphane Landri runs with his wife and two kids (Alexandre, 17 and Charlène, 12) a traditional travelling circus. A cousin offers Alexandre to spend the whole summer in his large circus so he could learn how to tame a lion cub and eventually bring the animal back to their circus. Stéphane refuses to see the teenager leave, even for a short period of time, for fear of endangering their circus, their closed-circuit way of life and his relationship with his son.
