Vénus Carnivores, short documentary film by Chloé Wasp (in development)
Through a series of echoes between women and carnivorous plants, connected by fire, I want to question the myths that permeate bodies. Following in the footsteps of a young firewoman, I will explore the tensions between destruction and regeneration at the heart of an ecosystem shaped by flames: the pine forests and acid swamps of North Carolina, USA, where Venus flytraps — endemic carnivorous plants — survive thanks to regular fires.
