Estelle, lively, whimsical, and full of self-deprecating humor, has been a nursing assistant in a nursing home for about ten years. She has a strong sense of empathy with many of the residents and is surrounded by colleagues and friends with whom she enjoys partying, but she nevertheless suffers greatly in her job, affected by the deaths of residents and no longer able to cope with the sometimes strict rules of the institution. The arrival of Madame Thomas, a touching and funny resident on the edge of reality, and the switch to night shifts will push her to break free, plunging her into an even stronger conflict between her love for her job and what it costs her.
